  Climate
The heart of the Mediterranean is not given to harsh extremities, save perhaps for the heat of midsummer, which is known to exceed the mid-30s (deg C). Malta in this respect exemplifies everything one normally associates with the typical Mediterranean climate: total annual rainfall is 600mm, all of which usually falls between October and March. From June to September the weather is uniformly hot and dry. Winter temperatures rarely drop below 12 (deg C).
